Organic Traffic Increase
A 6 months ecommerce engagement with Volta Commerce.
About
Volta Commerce
A ecommerce business that engaged OnyxRank for a 6 months retainer focused on technical SEO, topical authority, and revenue attribution.
The Challenge
Where they started
Ecommerce brand with 12,000 organic visitors per month stuck behind weak internal linking, thin category content, and missing schema markup. Paid ads were the primary channel but customer acquisition cost was rising quarter over quarter, and finance leadership was asking hard questions about long-term unit economics.
The Strategy
What we did
Technical audit revealed 847 pages with missing meta descriptions and 23 orphaned collection pages. We rebuilt collection-page architecture with proper H1 hierarchy and ProductCollection schema across every category. Created 45 category-cluster articles targeting non-branded commercial keywords. Implemented FAQ schema across all collection pages to capture AI Overview placements. Built internal linking density between blog posts and matching collection pages to consolidate authority.
The Results
What the work produced
Organic traffic grew from 12,000 to 52,000 monthly visitors over 6 months. Organic revenue share moved from 8% to 31% of total revenue. Customer acquisition cost on the organic channel ran 73% lower than paid social. Three of the rebuilt collection pages now hold AI Overview placements for primary commercial queries.
Future Growth
What's next
Phase 2 expanded to programmatic location-page architecture for the brand's 12 retail locations and a Reddit authority program to build LLM citation signals for the next generation of category queries.
